Clinical Effects of Gaspylor on Patients of Gastrectomy, Cholecytectomy and Small, Large bowel resection



Abstract
It is well known fact that anorexia, gastric fullness, indigestion are common problem in patients of, abdominal surgery especially gastrectomy. Most of surgeon experienced patients complaing indigestion, delayed weight gain, loss of appettite after gastrectomy or ther abdominal surgery. Several types o= appetite stimulants and digestives have been introduced up to-now. Recently, new type of digestive (Gaspylor) containing sheep¢¥s gastric mucosal extracts has been introduced. Authors investigated the effects of Gas; ylor on patients of gastrectomy, cholecystectomy and bowel resection (86 patients) on inpatient basis. The results were summerized as follows: 1) In 41 patients of subtotal gastrectomy, Gaspylor was effective (82.0%) and in 14 patients, the results was excellent. 2) 21 of 24 cholecystectomy patients (87.5%) and 10 of 12 bowel resection patients (83.3%) were effective. 3) Gaspylor were effectve on syptoms of anorexia (77.8%), epigastric discomfort (68.6%), gastric fullness (86%) and indigestion (77.2%). 4) There were no describable side effects during medication periods.
